The audio you generate

You may use the audio you generate, including commercially, as long as you follow the acceptable use rules below. We claim no rights in that audio and ask for no royalties.

The voices themselves are not yours. Other customers use the same voices, so you cannot claim exclusive rights in a voice or register it as a trademark.

Acceptable use

Spero's voices are made from recordings of real people who agreed to this use. So these rules are firm. You may not use Spero for:

• Impersonation: presenting the audio as the voice of a real person, or as words a real person said.
• Fraud: scam calls, phishing, or anything meant to trick people out of money, data or access.
• Deception about what the audio is: telling people, or leading them to believe, that AI-generated audio is a human recording when that matters to them.
• Harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content involving minors, or any other unlawful content.
• Overloading the service, getting around its limits, or using another person's account or key.

AI disclosure

All audio from Spero is AI-generated, and each API response says so in an X-Disclosure header. You are responsible for telling your listeners wherever the law, a platform's rules, or the context calls for it. In a phone call or any other live setting where a person could reasonably think they are hearing a human, you must tell them.

Prices and credit

Spero is prepaid at $20 per 1M input characters, charged when the render finishes, even if you have closed the connection. A failed render is never charged. Each new account gets $2 of credit once, after confirming its e-mail address. One person may hold one account for this credit, and each address gets it once, even if the account is later closed.

We may change prices and limits. New prices apply to later requests and are announced on this site first. The limits in force are in the docs.

Accounts and API keys

An account needs a valid e-mail address. Keep your API keys secret: you are responsible for everything done with them. If you think a key has leaked, revoke it in the dashboard right away. We may revoke keys or suspend accounts that are being abused.

Text you send

The text you send stays yours. We use it only to produce the audio you asked for. We store neither the text nor the audio; we keep only counts, as the Privacy Policy describes. Your text is not used to train our models. Send only text you have the right to send.

Availability

The service is provided as is, with no uptime commitment. A two-sentence passage takes about 30 seconds today and a full 2,000 characters about 3 minutes, and we may change or remove features.

Liability

You are responsible for what you generate and how you use it. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the service in the last 12 months.

Ending your use

You can close your account at any time by e-mailing us. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the current version and its date are on this page. They are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, and the courts of Istanbul have jurisdiction.
