Pricing and credit

Spero costs $20 per 1M input characters, which is $0.00002 a character. There is no subscription.

Signup credit

Each new account gets $2 of credit, which covers 100,000 characters, after confirming its e-mail.

How you are charged

  • You are charged when the render finishes. A failed render is never charged.
  • Closing the connection does not cancel a request: it still renders and is charged, even if it was waiting in the queue.
  • Your balance must cover the whole text before the request starts. If it does not, the API answers 402.
  • The playground and the API spend the same balance at the same price.
  • The cost of each request is in its X-Cost-USD header and on your Requests page.

Adding credit

You add credit on the billing page, from $10 to $5,000 at a time. Stripe handles the payment, and any tax is added at checkout.
